The current market demands for short lead times has initiated a new journey for IRON Pump and a change in operations as pumps-from-stock are added to the production line.

It is vital for our security of delivery that the goods we receive are correct and without errors or defects.
We value such relations highly and as a pump manufacturer ourselves, we strive to form partnerships of this nature with our customers” Reno Hansen says “we cooperate with several suppliers and preferably local if possible. More suppliers help minimize bottlenecks and allow for fast execution should customer or market demands change”.

FROM MADE-TO-ORDER TO STOCK PRODUCTS
Traditionally, IRON’s production has focused on made-to-order pumps alone. This is working excellently because the pumps are tailor-made to specific customer requirements. However, the current market demands for short lead times has initiated a new journey for the organization. This process requires a change in operations as pumps-from-stock will be added to the production line.
“Operations, procurement and logistics are, of course, fully integrated with our ERP system. This enables automated processes, which notify us whenever action is needed, and we avoid bottle-necks. Furthermore, we have introduced new tools to stream-line the operations and it allows us to manufacture parts in advance and avoid downtime to minimize any lack of goods”, Chief Production Officer Mads Toft explains and finishes, 
“We already have large warehouse with components on stock and everything is well-documented when it comes to repeat orders and replacement pumps. This means that we can execute fast once we have the pump’s serial number. Our large archive of pump drawings and castings allow us to supply spare parts for even very old pumps”.
