PROPELLER PUMPS

The IRON propeller pump series QT/QTe is primarily operating on heeling duties with large capacities, low heads and two-way operations. The QT anti-heeling pump series are all based on the reversible propeller principle, where you need only one pump to shift water from port to starboard and vice versa, and a simple pipeline.

Since IRON Pump A/S first pioneered the anti-heeling pump back in 1952, the company has supplied several thousand anti heeling pumps for all manners of heeling operations and applications, setting the tone for both quality, reliability and flexibility in the market and can be found today on most types of vessels throughout the world. Being a ship designer, AHS manufacturer, shipyard engineer or the-like, take advantage of including the QT anti-heeling pump 3D models in your design to see which QT pump fits in and to prepare the pipe design on both sides of the anti-heeling pump. The 3D models can be made available in most used formats.

QTe
The QTe 250 is the latest edition to the QT series. It has been designed to meet market requirements for a compact and service friendly anti-heeling pump. The motor has been placed horizontally on top, driving the pump with belts. The hydraulic part is easily accessible by removing an intermediate section catering for the change of belts and the mechanical seal. The QTe fits in spaces where other anti-heeling pumps are too big. The compact design both in height and in distance between the pipe line flanges makes it perfect for newbuilds to optimize cargo spaces, and for retrofitting in spaces where no other pump fits in.

The simple design not only provides a rigid and robust construction but also facilitates quick inspection and service. The wide use of standard components ensures reduced cost on spare parts. QTe pumps offer large flow and low head as the application demands. Contrary to many other propeller pumps, the QTe series can be geared to fit the required operational requirements, thanks to the pump drive design.

The (e) in QTe refers to the IRON Pump EcoDesign pump series, where the efficiency is unprecedented.
Options
• Flanges configuration available in DIN, ANSI and JIS.

Easy. The compact in-line design allows for easy service and for installation in narrow spaces, like in between the frames or stringers.
Low Risk. The belt drive design results in a compact pump with low risk and low cost operation, throughout the pump’s entire lifespan. In the event that a mechanical seal fails, the pump can easily be repaired and up and running again in no time with as little as a service kit. The entire pump can be serviced leaving the the main installation or motor untouched.
Efficiency. All standard motors can be mounted in order to achieve best possible efficiency and accommodate customer demands and preferred brands. Motors can be supplied for, and delivered with, frequency converters for further improvements.

QT Anti-Heeling Pump
The Great Belt Ferry M/F “KONG FREDERIK IX” was designed with off-center railway tracks and it was essential to keep alignment of the tracks on the ramp fixed on land and the tracks on the ship’s deck.
Further, the King’s coffee could not be spilt by a listing ferry. The original QT design has proved to be resilient and reliable.
